I'm just an ordinary woman who enjoys talking through writing. Not that I have much to say, mind you, but every now and then I need to let off steam.

Oo, a Real Rant!

Well, I actually have a rant today! Maybe if anyone reads this they can tell the powers that be it's an issue. The problem is the set up of print pages used on websites which allows just one line to overflow to a second page so that when asked if you want to print the recipe, article, info...whatever, you use TWO sheets of paper when in reality, only one is needed. It seems to me that whoever sets up the "print" icon on the site should create the page in a format that is eco-friendly paperwise. I know that I can do all the techno stuff on a drop down list of margins, etc. But to my way of thinking, if the site is going to do the original "setting up" to even ask if you want to print the page, it should be factored in. I'm old school. I like to have my recipe in front of me ON PAPER so yes, I know I'm using paper, too. But really, fix this issue.

Day Two

Day two of this challenge. I've learned a few things from my son about fiddling with html. I knew what it was but didn't know the language, so to speak, to change things. So here I am with another bit of blog. There are things I'm finding out about technology that I'd rather not know. One of those things is how computers don't recognize what we of an older generation of typists do so automatically - space bar twice after a period. It wouldn't be so bad if "computers" actually knew about correct hyphenation and proper justification - white space be damned. Here's a link to some discussion about it: http://www.webword.com/reports/period.html

My First Post

Well, here goes. I'm test-driving a blog so that I can help my husband set up a blog of his own. This is a flying-by-the-seat-of-my-pants effort and I'm really only "playing." If you were expecting something more, I'm sorry. That will have to wait until another time.
